About this work

Woman with an openwork 'toque' on her head trimmed with feathers and ribbons from the shop of Fouchet. She wears a 'moire' japon trimmed with a satin 'rouleaux'. 'Tour de gorge' of Blonde (bobbin lace). Further accessories: earrings, fringed shawl, gloves, fan, flat shoe. Figure in the same japon, seen from the back. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797-1839.
