About this work

Bride with a 'coiffure de Mariée' by Mr Sergent, adorned with flowers by Mr Cartier. She wears a satin bridal gown over which a gown of blonde (bobbin lace) is worn, executed in the manner of Jennie Raibaud. Accessories: veil, necklace, gloves, bracelets on both forearms, flat shoes with square toes. The same gown also seen from the side. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, Paris, 1797-1839.
