About this work
Woman dressed in a dress fastened in the front below the bust with a tied velvet ribbon. She lifts her skirt, revealing a colored petticoat. On her head a hat with a veil: 'Chapeau au Repentire'. Further accessories: fan, flat shoe with pointed toe. The print is part of a series of 142 fashion prints, of which 115 have been identified, published by J. Chéreau, Paris, 1799-1810.
