About this work

First figure: 'habit', called 'midle Cost' or redingote with a low-cut neckline. Long trousers of suéde. Waistcoat of piqué. Buttoned neckerchief with pattern of stars. Ruffled jabot. Accessories: tall hat with upturned brim, tie pin(?), gloves, walking stick, boots with tassels, spurs and square toes. Second figure: redingote of 'étoffe de la savonnerie.' Wide long trousers. Shoes with heels and spurs. Tall hat. Whip. Print from the fashion magazine Le Mercure des Salons (January 1830 - March 1831).
