About this work
The woman on the left wears a pleated dress consisting of a tunic and an under-skirt. The lapels, half-length sleeves, belt, and hem have a polka dot pattern. Hat with a wide brim, decorated with feathers. Holding a parasol or umbrella. Next to her stands a woman in a dress with a flat rounded shoulder collar with a black bow. Three-quarter sleeves, high waist, and scalloped hem. Hat with a wide brim and upstanding feather plume. Flower corsage. According to the caption: 'toilettes' by Mmes Forcillon Soeurs. Print from the fashion magazine Journal des Demoiselles (1833-1922).
