The accompanying text in the magazine (p. 246) states: Fig. 1: Hat of crêpe, garnished with flowers and a strip of printed gauze. Jacket of cotton batiste, trimmed with a strip of muslin. Fichu of lace. White gloves. Blue shoes. Fig. 2: High hat with narrow brim. Habit à taille longue (?) with false pockets? A scarf collar standing off the neck of velvet. Neck scarf of blue silk. Pantaloons of cashmere. Boots with spurs. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published in Frankfurt as a copy of the French edition by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797-1839.
