About this work

According to the accompanying text (pp. 463 and 464): Fig. 1: Costume of a bride for the day after the wedding. Hairstyle decorated with roses and myrtle. Jacket of 'étoffe de Lyon' with trimmings of crepe and Blonde (bobbin lace). White gloves and white shoes. Fig. 2: 'Toilette de Lonchamp'. High hat with a very narrow brim. Cravat of gros de Naples. Waistcoat of goat's wool and bronze-colored jacket. Long trousers of deer leather. Soft boots with spurs. The print is part of the fashion magazine *Journal des Dames et des Modes*, published in Frankfurt as a copy of the French edition by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797–1839. Woman copied from Costume Parisien 2058.
