About this work

The latest fashions for January 1828. Left: a woman in a walking gown with double shoulder collar with scalloped hem. Sheep-bout sleeves. Skirt decorated in the front center with five bows. Hat decorated with ribbons and aigrettes. The same hat is shown from the back next to the woman. Right: two dinner gowns of gros de Naples decorated with volants and 'dagraffes'. Tulle fichu. Velvet hat decorated with a 'crosse' and two aigrettes, from the shops of Mure. Handkerchief in hand. Print from the fashion magazine The World of Fashion (1824-1891). The two figures on the right are copied after No. 514, 1827, from the fashion magazine Petit Courrier des Dames.
