About this work
Eleventh print from a series of fourteen on the Passion, used in the Passional Buch. In the center, the crucified Christ with the two thieves on the left and right. Under Christ's cross stand soldiers, one of them holding a lance with a sponge. On the left, a group of mourning women, including Mary. On the right, Pontius Pilate on horseback.
