About this work
The dissipated maid amuses herself in a tavern or brothel with drink and men. In the background a fight is taking place. A night watchman and his entourage enter. On the wall in the background hangs a painting with a copy after Caracci's painting of a satyr scourging a nymph. On the mantelpiece a figurine of a naked woman with a sabre and a liberty cap, with the inscription 'Libertas' on the pedestal. The print is part of an album.
