About this work

Five Chinese generals kneel before the four main figures around the battle at Pyongyang. From left to right: Colonel Satô, General-Major Tatsumi, Lieutenant-General Nozu and General Ôshima. On 16 September 1894 the Chinese surrendered at Pyongyang to the Japanese army, during the First Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895).
