About this work

The Japanese army storms the settlement at Port Arthur. In February 1904, Japan attacked the Russian fleet in the harbor of Port Arthur. However, the attack on the settlement only began in August and lasted more than five months. This print dates from March 1904 and thus shows a fictional battle at the city. The design was reused; Nobukazu published a very similar print in August 1900, following the Battle of Peking.
