About this work

Amidst a landscape with animals, Cain strikes Abel, lying on the ground, with an uplifted piece of bone (Gen. 4:8). In the background on the left, the two altars. The smoke from Cain's offering does not rise. Abel's offering is accepted by God. The light of God shines on Abel, who kneels with his arms outstretched to heaven. The tetragram symbolizes God the Father. The print is part of an album.
