About this work

The mother of the sons of Zebedee kneels with her sons before Christ. The woman asks Christ if her sons may sit beside him in his kingdom. The disciples of Christ look on. Letters are placed at various elements of the composition. At D James is beheaded by order of Herod Agrippa, E shows the Crucifixion of Christ and at F John sits in a cauldron with boiling oil. The print is part of an album.
