About this work
Christ tells the high priests, elders and Pharisees the parable of the tenants of the vineyard: "There was once a landlord who planted a vineyard and fenced it. He dug a pit for the winepress and built a watchtower. Then he leased it to vinedressers and went on a journey." In the background the vineyard is visible. Thereby the servants of the landlord who were driven away and beaten to death by the vinedressers. Letters are placed at various elements of the composition. The print is part of an album.
