About this work

Kings and prophets - the 24 elders from the Apocalypse - illustrate the text from the prophetic visions of John. Together with the heavenly hosts, they offer praise to God, who sits on a throne holding the book with the seven seals, with harp playing and bowls full of incense. The symbolic figures of the four evangelists John (angel), Mark (lion), Luke (ox), and Matthew (eagle) carry the music books. The elect hold palm branches in their hands and kneel in worship before the Lamb of God, who appears on Mount Zion in a halo of rays, with the banner of the resurrection. The print is part of an album.
