About this work
Kings and prophets—the twenty-four elders from the Apocalypse—embody the text from the prophetic visions of John. Together with the heavenly hosts, they offer praise to God, who sits on a throne and holds the book with the seven seals, with harp playing and bowls full of incense. The symbolic figures of the four evangelists John (angel), Mark (lion), Luke (ox), and Matthew (eagle) carry the music books. The chosen ones hold palm branches in hand and kneel in worship before the Lamb of God, who appears on Mount Zion in a halo, with the banner of the resurrection. The print is part of an album.
