About this work
A king gives his servant the order to invite guests for a large feast. All guests refuse to come, because they have other matters to attend to: one had bought a farm, another had bought five yoke of oxen and went to have them inspected, the third had just married and therefore could not come. Thereupon the king gives the order to invite everyone on the street, including beggars. Letters are placed at various elements of the representation. The print is part of an album.
