About this work

John hears in prison about the actions of Christ. He sends some of his disciples to him to ask him questions. In their presence Christ heals blind people and people with physical disabilities. In the period in which this series originated, 'crippled' was a generic term to describe a physical disability of the lower body. Letters stand next to various elements of the scene. Above the image a title. Below it six lines of verse and a reference to Matthew 15: 30-31. The print is part of an album.
