About this work
The high priest Caiaphas, under a canopy, and the rest of the Sanhedrin, with devils above their heads, deliberate on how they will kill Christ. Letters are placed at various elements in the image. In the background on the left the Raising of Lazarus. On the right a large crowd listens to the words of Christ. Above the image a title. Below it six lines of verse and a reference to Matthew 27: 1. The print forms part of an album.
