About this work
The interior of a house. The Pharisee Nicodemus is in conversation with Christ in the middle of the night (John 3:1-21). Behind a curtain a man watches. In two clouds the subjects of the conversation: baptism and the proclamation of the coming of the Son of Man. The image is here used as a depiction of Paul's stay in Rome. Paul stayed there two years in a house he had rented and received everyone who came to him there. Above the image a title. Below it six lines of verse and a reference to Acts 28: 30-31. The print forms part of an album.
