About this work

Interior of a printing house. The printer, possibly Johannes Gutenberg, operates the press. Behind him stands an apprentice with two ink balls. On the wall a shelf with books. The text sheet also contains an illustration of Berthold Schwartz, the inventor of gunpowder, with the devil. Numbered in the upper right: dccxiii.
