About this work
Landscape with a man on a ladder against an apple tree. Under the tree, on which the text 'Sic Vos Vobis' can be read, two figures collect the apples in baskets. In the background, people harvest grain. Around the landscape, four scenes with the interior of the Wasserkirche, where the city library of Zurich was located. With a twelve-line German inscription.
