About this work

A doorman stands in front of the door of a cinema theater and makes an inviting hand gesture. Next to him stands a woman holding her index finger to her lips. Behind her hangs a frame with film titles. At the bottom a text urges people to spend their money on books instead of 'vain entertainment' (such as going to the cinema).
