About this work
Telemachus looks longingly up at a winged figure, whom an old man points out to him. He is held back by a woman holding a censer. In the background near a monument, a lion with bundled arrows, Poetry and a female figure pointing to a book. In the upper left, Fame blows a trumpet, holding an symbol of eternity in her hands. To the right, a putto stabs himself in the heart with a dagger. In the foreground, putti blowing bubbles near a goat.
