About this work

A writing woman with wings is assisted by a winged figure on her head. A woman on the right shows her a celestial map. Above them on clouds sits Truth with a mirror. In the foreground, putti sit with a book scroll, maps, and a compass. In the background, an obelisk and a pyramid. In the cartouche frame, medallions with the Flood, the Fall of Man, and the Tower of Babel.
