Hakkenden heroes fighting on a roof

The brothers Inuzuka Shino (played by kabuki actor Bandô Hikosaburô) and Inukai Genpachi (played by kabuki actor Bandô Kamezô) fighting on the roof of a temple at night. The fish-like monster that seems to bite into the ridge of the roof is a 'shachihoko'. Statues of this mythical monster with the head of a tiger and the body of a fish were often placed on the roofs of temples and castles due to the belief that they could bring rain and thus extinguish any fires.
