About this work
The Germans, 70 AD. A procession with Claudius Civilis and Brinio returning the priestess Velleda after consulting her during the siege of Castra Vetera, during the Batavian Revolt. In the procession, they carry Roman prisoners of war. Part of a series of eight prints from the masquerade of the students of the Utrecht University depicting episodes from national history, 25 June 1851.
