About this work
The Germans, 70 AD. Procession with Claudius Civilis and Brinio returning the priestess Velleda after consulting her during the siege of Castra Vetera, during the Batavian Revolt. They are carrying Roman prisoners of war. Part of a series of eight prints depicting episodes from national history by the masquerade of the students of the Utrecht University, 25 June 1851.
