About this work

During the colloquy in Marburg, between 1-4 October 1529, the reformers Luther and Zwingli discuss the true meaning of the sacrament. At the table also Melanchthon, right Philip Landgrave of Hesse on a sort of throne. Around this scene six portraits of the reformers: Calvin, Merula, Gustav Adolf, Menno Simons, Jan Laski, and Erasmus.
