About this work

Three kabuki actors, dressed in summer kimonos with mythological animals depicted. Each has a towel. Left: actor Sawamura Tanosuke III, with towel over his shoulder, dressed in a summer kimono with waves and a turtle, a symbol of good luck. Center: Nakamura Shikan IV, with towel around his neck, dressed in a kimono depicting a tiger among bamboo. Right: Ichimura Kakitsu IV with towel in neck, kimono decorated with a fire-breathing dragon, only on the left half of his body. Triptych.
