History (Historia) writes in her book about the true history of the French monarchy. She tramples the allegorical figures of Flattery (Adulatione) and Satire, which lie at her feet. Beside her stands Truth (Veritas). On the other side of the table are the female personifications of Numismatics, Chronology and Genealogy. In the sky, Providence (Providentia) crowns the portrait of Louis XV carried by Fame (Fama). Amor holds the portrait of the Infanta Marianne Victoria of Bourbon, the king's fiancée at the time, in his hands. In the foreground, a putto draws a map of France. The group is located in the Temple of Memory, decorated with statues of French monarchs.
