Allegorical representation in which History gives the painter a quill to record the histories of the Dutch princes. She points to a tapestry on which the Dutch Maiden, accompanied by Liberty, Faith, Thetis, Mars and Mercury, and along the edges medallions containing the portraits of Dutch princes. On the left in the background a battle. With a seven-line inscription in Dutch.
