Paradise disturbed

In a pastiche of the Fall, a naked man (Adam) flees from the temptation of a naked woman (Eva) who is only partially covered with a sheet of paper with the inscription 'Evolution'. In the trees, multiple snakes with feminist works in their mouths, including the feminist novel from 1897 'Hilda van Suylenburg' (written by Cécile de Jong van Beek en Donk) and 'De Naaistersbode', the official organ of the Algemeene Nederlandsche Naaistersbond (ANNB). In the foreground, a reading monkey engrossed in 'Het ééne noodige boek'.
