About this work
Prime Minister Cort van der Linden, speaking as Admiral Horatio Nelson to the crew of his ship before the Battle of Trafalgar (1805). In a variation on Nelson's famous order ('England expects that every man will do his duty'), Cort van der Linden declares that 'Netherlands expects that everyone will do his duty', meaning that all political parties will strive to achieve universal suffrage and a state pension.
