About this work
Two pages with eight mounted and labeled samples (600-615) of geometrically decorated and plain gold and silver metal foil strips on the left. On the opposite right page, a table with handwritten corresponding specifications (in code) for each ornament. Part of the sample book donated by the Van Rijn ladies, presumably from a French manufacturer of luxury papers or its representative in the Netherlands, ca. 1830.
