About this work
Two pages with 15 pasted and labeled (150-163) samples of ornamental garlands of gold- and silver-colored metal paper on the right. Individual garlands built up from flowers, leaves, cornucopias, cartouches, or French lilies. On the opposite left page, a table with handwritten corresponding specifications (in code) per ornament. Part of the sample book donated by the Van Rijn ladies, presumably from a French manufacturer of luxury papers, or his representative in the Netherlands, ca. 1830.
