After other sectors, Black Pete also goes on strike and tells Saint Nicholas that he must deliver the packages himself. In the background, references to positive developments in the Netherlands: new buildings in Amsterdam, the pacification of Aceh, a street urchin being caught by a police officer, and a cornucopia full of coins.
