About this work
Sekibei leans on a gigantic axe, next to a cherry tree from which a female spirit emerges. Sekibei was once prophesied that he could become emperor if he chopped down a cherry tree. When he is about to do this, the spirit of the cherry tree, Komachi, appears to him and prevents him from felling the tree.
