About this work
Entry of King William II at the newly completed, flag-decorated Willemspoort in Amsterdam on 27 November 1840 for his inauguration. The king on horseback rides with his retinue through the gate into the city, preceded by honor guard and other riders. Along the side spectators. Left and right with flags decorated windmills. Left in the background with end of the procession with the carriage of the queen.
