About this work

Ornamental cartouche with a text in which the States-General grant the dike reeve and hoogheemraden of Rijnland a 25-year patent for the production and publication of a map of the Hoogheemraadschap of Rijnland. This cartouche was specially designed by Romeyn de Hooghe for the second edition of the map (1687, the first edition appeared in 1647).
