About this work

Map with buildings in bird's-eye perspective. On the left the legends A-Z, a-y, a-x, aa-zzz and 1-88. To the right of that an overview of outgoing mail. In the upper middle the title. In the upper right the legend 89-139 and an overview of lodgings. To the left of that an overview of incoming mail. In the lower right of the middle a cartouche with the (old) commission to the four burgomasters sitting in 1765, their coats of arms to the left and right and above the coat of arms of Amsterdam flanked by two lions. Around this cartouche objects referring to trade with the east (VOC) and the west (WIC). To the left of that a scale bar: Scale of 275 Rhenish rods.
