About this work

Part of a frieze on one of the two shoulders in the Vroedschapskamer of the Town Hall on the Dam in Amsterdam. On that frieze, of which this representation is a part, an allegorical representation is depicted in which Good Counsel, Unity and Peace drive away vices such as Malice, Deceit, Selfishness, Drunkenness, Slander and Venom. See RP-P-AO-22-2R-1 and RP-P-AO-22-2R-3 for the other parts of the frieze. The representation is explained in the register (RP-P-AO-22-2-2). Numbered in the lower right: 2.
