Interior of the Athenaeum Illustre, the predecessor of the University of Amsterdam, on the Oudezijds Voorburgwal in Amsterdam. This educational institution was founded in 1631 and housed in the Agnietenkapel. In the hall, a lecture is being given to students. Below the scene, the title in Dutch and French. Numbered in the upper right: 28*.
