About this work

View of the Amsterdam Schouwburg inaugurated on 15 September 1774 on the Leidseplein. Various figures and carriages on the square. On the left in the background the Leidsepoort. This city theater was built to replace the theater on the Keizersgracht that burned down in 1772 and burned down itself in 1890. Below the image the title and a two-line verse in Dutch (left) and French (right).
