View of the Amsterdam Schouwburg on the Leidseplein, inaugurated on September 15, 1774, seen from the Lijnbaansgracht. The Leidsepoort is on the left. This city theater was built to replace the theater on the Keizersgracht that burned down in 1772 and itself burned down in 1890. Title in Dutch and French below the image.
