View of the Third Reguliers Gate, built in 1654-1655, and the associated bridge in Amsterdam, seen from outside the city. Various figures on the bridge and in the boats. This stone city gate replaced the earlier wooden Second Reguliers Gate. After the Fourth Expansion and the construction of the Utrecht Gate (1664), this building had lost its function as a city gate. From 1669 it was to be used as a Butter Weigh House.
