About this work
The four Latin Church Fathers - the saints Augustine, Jerome, Gregory and Ambrose - sit before an altar discussing the Eucharist. Above them float two angels holding a book with Bible texts. Under the print, for each Church Father, an appropriate Bible verse in Latin.
