About this work
A wolf disguised as a shepherd tends a flock of sheep. The shepherd is attacked by his own dogs, whereby his cloak tears and his wolf paws become visible. His men, called mercenaries, abuse their position and slaughter and eat the sheep. Below the image a verse in Dutch and French and references to various Bible verses.
