About this work
Before a round temple, Ecclesia, the personification of the Christian church, gives symbols of authority to spiritual and secular rulers. Two angels protect the church from attacks by devils and Islam. A devil breaks the globe. The text accompanying this illustration in the book urges the reader to have mercy on the church and protect it with piety.
